Licensing Information
WealthDesign Limited (FSP179084) is a Financial Advice Provider (FAP) licenced and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority to provide financial advice.
Nature and Scope of the Advice
Our advisers can provide you financial advice about investment products (including KiwiSaver, shares, bonds, managed funds etc), personal risk insurance (e.g., life, trauma, total and permanent disability, income protection, mortgage protection, business/keyperson, health insurance) and fire & general insurance.
The product providers we work with include, but are not limited to:
- Accuro
- AIA
- ANZ Investments
- Asteron Life
- Booster
- Chubb Life
- Fidelity Life
- Generate
- InvestNow
- Jarden Securities
- nib
- Partners Life
For fire & general insurance, we outsource this to Wanganui Insurance Brokers (WIBCO). WIBCO has a range of insurers available and they will provide their own disclosure if and when required.
Fees and Expenses
The actual fee charged to you will depend on the nature and scope of the advice or service we provide. The exact fees we will charge will be confirmed at the time the advice is provided, along with the date by which the fee will be payable.
For advice in relation to insurance and KiwiSaver, commissions may be paid by the product provider. We will provide you with more specific details of these commissions when we have more information about your needs and personal circumstances.
Conflict of Interest and Incentives
Our advisers receive a salary as an employee of WealthDesign Limited.
WealthDesign Limited is paid commission by some of our product providers through which we place business. The amount of the commission we receive depends on balances held or premiums paid. We will provide more specific details of these commissions once we have talked to you and understand your needs at the time our advice is given.
For fire & general insurance, WealthDesign has an agreement with WIBCO. If you arrange general insurance via WIBCO, WealthDesign Limited will be paid a percentage of the commission paid to WIBCO by the general insurance companies.
From time to time, product providers may offer us indirect benefits such as business lunches, tickets to sporting and/or cultural events, corporate promotional merchandise.
To ensure that our advisers prioritise our client’s best interests above their own, we follow an advice process that ensures our recommendations are based on the basis of each client’s goals and circumstances. All our advisers undergo annual training about how to manage conflict of interest.
Complaints Handling and Dispute Resolution
If you are not satisfied with our service or financial advice, please tell us as soon as possible. You can make a complaint by emailing info@wealthdesign.co.nz or by calling 06 355 5844.

When we receive your complaint, we will consider your complaint following our internal complaints process:
- We will consider your complaint and let you know how we intend to resolve it. We may need to contact you to get further information about your complaint.
- We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days of receiving them. If we can’t resolve the complaint, we will contact you within that time to let you know we need more time to consider your complaint.
- We will contact you by phone or email to resolve your complaint and how we propose to do so.
If we cannot agree on how to fix the issue, or you decide not to use our internal complaints process, you can contact our external disputes resolution scheme, the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme.
The Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme provides a free and independent dispute resolution service that may help to resolve your complaint.

Duties Information
WealthDesign Limited and our advisers have duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 relating to the way that we give advice.
We are required to:
- Give priority to your interest by taking all reasonable steps to make sure our advice is not materially influenced by our own interests.
- Exercise care, diligence, and skill in providing you with advice.
- Meet standards of competence, knowledge and skill set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services (these are designed to make sure we have the expertise needed to provide you with advice).
- Meet standards of ethical behaviour, conduct and client care set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services (these are designed to make sure we treat you as we should, and to give you suitable advice).
