With a strong focus on client relationships, and strength in strategic planning, John takes an integral role in assisting you to achieve your financial goals. A Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Financial Adviser, John is also an active member of Financial Advice New Zealand and SIFA. John’s role often involves governance.  He’s on a number of boards, providing expertise to company leaders, encouraging their businesses to flourish and grow. His ongoing training and considerable experience in financial services means you receive fresh insights, expertise and most importantly – results.

A Lincoln University graduate, with a background in farming, John began his financial career in 1987.

John is proud that WealthDesign isn’t owned by a faceless corporate, dictating which investments or companies to use. He only recommends to you products and services that have been independently researched, and companies that he trusts.

Married to Kristine, and proud father to Fran and Meg, John is a dab hand with a shotgun. This is not to deter male suitors for his daughters, rather for the duck-shooting season – stress relief with a bang!  

John and Kristine have 50 acres on the edge of Palmerston North, which ensures he balances out all that paperwork at the office. This involves gumboots, talking to the cattle and plenty of shocks from electric fences!

When not helping his clients or farming, John likes to jump on his mountain bike or throw his golf clubs in the back of the car and head to the golf course.

John’s right hand gal, Uvana has been delivering what John promises since 2008. With outstanding time management skills and work ethic, she is also sweet on routine, as seen in her daily chocolate and coca-cola habit!

Uvana has a close working relationship with our clients and loves to deliver the highest standard of service possible.

Growing up in Horowhenua and now a Manawatu local, Uvana lives with her husband, two dogs and some cows on a beautiful lifestyle block. Don't get between her and her ride-on lawn mower - even hubby Shane knows that it won't end well, as she's pedantic about how those lawns are mown! She spends most of her spare time (that's not lawn mowing or farming) training and competing with her dogs around the country - dog obedience is her happy place.

While Kristine’s office may be at the back, she always has WealthDesign’s clients at front of mind. With a marketing mindset, she is always looking for ways to do things better, and to show our clients that we care.

Just like John, Kristine has a farming background – in fact that’s how they met (she married the boy-next-door). They have a strong family focus – summer will often include water-skiing at Taupo with their family, or experiencing the great outdoors by bike or on foot.

Not one to stop with a Bachelor of Agriculture from Massey University, Kristine is a keen learner about all things contributing to vitality and well-being. From nutrient dense food, biological farming, ecological building, to how your thoughts influence your world; topics at WealthDesign Friday night drinks are often engaging and enlightening - or as John has mentioned, "off the wall" at times!
